Cardinals Winter Leagues Notebook: 01/03/11

Amaury Cazana collects one hit for Player of the Day honors and former MiLB Iker Franco knocks in three runs in the LMP. Rich Rundles and Tyler Greene are activated in the LVBP, while Eduardo Sanchez hits the shelf. Former Cardinal Randy Keisler moves from LMP to Dominican. Ex-MiLB Juan Gonzalez hits grand slam in Puerto Rico. Ricky Martinez joins the LNBP.

Mexican Pacific League Playoffs


Brian Barden (Former St. Louis-Mazatlan) started at third base and batted sixth. 0-for-4 with two strikeouts and one caught stealing.


Amaury Cazana (Memphis-Culiacan) started in right field and batted third.  1-for-4 with two strikeouts.

Andres Meza (Puebla-Culiacan) started and pitched six innings.  He allowed four hits, two earned runs, one home run, three walks, and struck seven out. (g/f:9-1)

Aragua added Rich Rundles (Memphis Free Agent) to the active roster and released Luke Hughes (Twins), who is dealing with a groin injury.  Hughes is actually playing got Perth in the Australian League.  Josmil Pinto (Twins), Eduardo Sanchez (Memphis), Dustin Martin (Twins), and Robert Waite (Tigers) were placed on the inactive list for the drafted players.  Aragua Official Site
