Cardinals Winter Leagues Notebook: 01/19/11

Tyler Greene drives in one run for Player of the Day honors; Rich Rundles picks up the hold; and former MiLB Javier Brito collects three hits, including a solo home run, all in the LVBP. Amaury Cazana reaches base three times and scores twice but is not enough as team is knocked out of playoffs. Ex-MiLB Gustavo Martinez earns third consecutive save in LNBP playoffs.

Mexican Pacific League Playoffs


Amaury Cazana (Memphis-Culiacan) started in right field and batted third.  2-for-3 with one double, two runs, one walk, and one strikeout.

Andres Meza (Puebla-Culiacan) started and pitched 4.1 innings.  He allowed four hits, four earned runs, one home run, one walk, hit two batters, struck one out, and picked one runner off for the losing decision (1-1).  (g/f:7-3)


Guasave beat Culiacan 8-2

Venezuelan League Round Robin


Renyel Pinto (Former Memphis-Caribes) entered in the eighth and pitched to three batters.  He allowed two hits and one earned run for the hold (4). (g/f:1-0)(ir-s:1-1)


Javier Brito (Former Memphis-Margaita) started at first base and batted fourth.  3-for-4 with one home run, one RBI, and one run.

Timo Perez (Former St. Louis-Zulia) started in left field and batted fifth.  1-for-4 with one caught stealing/pickoff.


Tyler Greene (St. Louis-Aragua) started at shortstop and batted eighth.  1-for-2 with one RBI, one sac fly, one stolen base, and assisted in two double plays.

Rich Rundles (Memphis Free Agent-Aragua) entered in the eighth and pitched to one batter.  He allowed no hits or runs for the hold (1). (g/f:0-1)
