"The Brawl" Tops Cardinals Classics Series

Condensed versions of five of the best St. Louis Cardinals games of 2010 to air Mondays on FOX Sports Midwest.

Fans can relive five of the best Cardinals games of 2010 in the annual Cardinals Classics series, which starts tonight on FOX Sports Midwest. The slate of games is headlined by "The Brawl," the Cardinals' emotional Aug. 10 win at Cincinnati that featured a first-inning brawl and a second-inning homer by Yadier Molina.


Cardinals Classics starts tonight (Monday, Feb. 28) at 8 p.m. with "Stavi's Shot," the Cardinals April 9 win at Milwaukee in which Nick Stavinoha hit a pinch-hit home run off all-time saves leader Trevor Hoffman. Cardinals Classics airs Mondays from Feb. 28 through March 28.

Monday, Feb. 28 at 8 p.m.: STAVI'S SHOT – April 9, 2010 – Nick Stavinoha hits a pinch hit two-run ninth-inning home run off of all-time saves leader Trevor Hoffman and the Cardinals beat the Brewers, 5-4.

Monday, March 7 at 6 p.m.: OPENING DAY – April 5, 2010 – Albert Pujols hits two home runs, Yadier Molina adds a grand slam as the Cardinals defeat the Reds, 11-6.

      Replay: Friday, March 11 at 7 p.m.


Monday, March 14 at 8 p.m.: WAINO IS BUENO – June 4, 2010 – Adam Wainwright registers the first shutout of his career, striking out eight Brewers in the Cardinals 8-0 victory.

      Replays: Thursday, March 17 at 6 p.m.; Saturday, March 19 at 11 a.m.


Monday, March 21 at 8 p.m.: HOME OPENER – April 12, 2010 – Albert Pujols hits a three-run home run off of Wandy Rodriguez and Adam Wainwright throws eight scoreless innings as the Cardinals beat the Astros, 5-0.   

      Replays: Tuesday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, March 25 at 4:30 p.m.


Monday, March 28 at 8 p.m.: THE BRAWL – Aug. 10, 2010 – After the infamous first-inning brawl, Yadier Molina sparks an emotional Cardinals club with his second-inning home run off Johnny Cueto. The Cardinals defeat the Reds, 8-4.   


Each Cardinals Classics show is a 30-minute, condensed version of the original FOX Sports Midwest telecast.


FOX Sports Midwest is entering its 18th season as the Cardinals TV partner and is scheduled to televise 152 regular season games and five spring training games in 2011.
