Cardinals Minors Early Spring Games Rosters

Four working rosters meld into five team rosters as St. Louis Cardinals minor leaguers continue play in spring training camp in Jupiter, Florida.

With the start of the second week of official minor league games on the back fields of Jupiter, Florida's Roger Dean Stadium, the St. Louis Cardinals player development staff has evolved their players from the four working groups in early workouts to five spring rosters along with a rehab group.

The second Quad Cities club would become those players not deemed ready to make a full-season team, instead remaining behind in Extended Spring Training camp. (42 additional players will join them in EST, which begins on April 6.) However, remember that these assignments are currently written in pencil, not ink. They can and will change.

157 players are listed below with three more likely coming in the next week as the major league roster is whittled down to its final 25.

Even with six-man rotations at Palm Beach and Quad Cities, further releases will need to be made to get down to 25-man opening day rosters. Rather than wait for big cut-down days as in the past, the Cardinals are expected to release players immediately if they are deemed to be non-competitive.
