Cardinals Minor League Notebook: 05/04/11

Nick Stavinoha, Bryan Anderson each drive in two runs as Memphis falls short. Amaury Cazana doubles and drives in three in Mexico. Matt Adams hits three-run homer, Alex Castellanos adds two RBI as Springfield wins. Xavier Scruggs triples in two runs but Palm Beach takes the loss. Justin Wright strikes out six over 2 2/3 innings as Quad Cities is swept.

New Orleans beat Memphis 7-5

 

Individual Highlights:

Jim Rapoport 3-for-4 with two runs and one walk.

Nick Stavinoha 1-for-4 with two RBIs (one w/two-outs), one sac fly, and assisted in one double play.

Andrew Brown 1-for-5 with one RBI, one run, and one strikeout.

Ramon Vazquez 2-for-4 with one double and one stolen base.

Bryan Anderson 1-for-4 with one double, two two-out RBIs, assisted in one double play, and allowed three stolen bases.

Pete Parise entered in the sixth and pitched two innings.  He allowed one hit and no runs. (p-s:22-12)(g/f:3-3)

Blake King entered in the eighth and pitched one inning.  He allowed no hits or runs, one walk, and struck one out. (p-s:19-10)

 

Rough Outing:

Donovan Solano 0-for-4 at the plate.

Pete Kozma 0-for-1 with one strikeout.

Lance Lynn started and pitched 4.1 innings.  He allowed eight hits, seven earned runs, one home run, four walks, struck five out, and assisted in one double play for the losing decision (1-3).  1-for-1 with one walk at the plate. (p-s:103-62)(g/f:5-2)

Springfield News-Leader reports that David Kopp could make his 2011 debut sometime next week, but Scott McGregor is still a ways away.
