Cardinals Minor League Notebook: 05/21/11

Mark Hamilton doubles twice and drives in three runs but Memphis bullpen gives up the game in final innings. Kevin Thomas strikes out seven over six innings as Springfield ends two-game losing streak. Zack Cox extends hitting streak to 15 games while Palm Beach loses third straight. Carlos Martinez touches 100 mph and K's nine, Nick Longmire launches three-run shot in Quad Cities win.

Individual Highlights:

Nick Stavinoha 1-for-5 with one double, one run, and one strikeout.

Mark Hamilton 3-for-3 with two doubles, three two-out RBIs, one run, and one walk.

Andrew Brown 1-for-4 with one home run, two RBIs, one run, one strikeout, and grounded into one double play.

Donovan Solano 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBIs.

Raul Valdes entered in the seventh and pitched one inning.  He allowed one hit, no run, and struck one out for the hold (1). (p-s:14-8)(g/f:1-0)


Rough Outing:
