Cardinals Minor League Notebook: 05/23/11

Bryan Anderson homers but Memphis comes up short in loss. Matt Adams launches two homers, Alex Castellanos hits one as Springfield wins in in 12 innings. John Gast goes the distance giving up only one run over nine to end Palm Beach's four-game losing streak. Trevor Rosenthal K's seven over five scoreless innings in Quad Cities' third straight win.

Tacoma beat Memphis 5-2

 

Individual Highlights:

Adron Chambers 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, two walks, and one outfield assist.

Andrew Brown 1-for-4 with one RBI, one walk, and two strikeouts.

Mark Hamilton 0-for-2 with two walks, one hit by pitch, one strikeout, grounded into one double play, and assisted in one double play.

Matt Carpenter 1-for-3 with one walk and grounded into one double play.

Bryan Anderson 1-for-4 with one home run, one RBI, one run, and one strikeout.

Donovan Solano 1-for-3 with one double, one walk, one strikeout, and assisted in one double play.

Notes:

Gast threw the team's first nine-inning complete game since Scott Schneider did so on August 29, 2010, according to the Palm Beach Cardinals on Twitter.
