Cardinals Minor League Notebook: 05/30/11

Aaron Luna, Matt Carpenter each drive in two runs apiece to lead Memphis to second straight win. Maikel Cleto strikes out nine over six as Springfield moves to 7-2 in last nine games. Xavier Scruggs knocks in two runs as Palm Beach splits four-game home series. Quad Cities rained out. DSL takes their regular Sunday off.

Aaron Luna 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBIs, three runs, and two walks.

Andrew Brown 2-for-4 with one double, one RBI, two runs, one walk, and one strikeout.

Mark Hamilton 2-for-4 with one RBI, one run, one walk, one sac fly, and assisted in one double play.

Matt Carpenter 1-for-2 with one double, two RBIs, one run, one walk, one sac fly, and one strikeout.

Ramon Vazquez 2-for-4 with one RBI and assisted in one double play.

Donovan Solano 2-for-4 with one double, one two-out RBI, one missed catch error, and assisted in one double play.

Notes:

Manager Pop Warner has slotted Shelby Miller for his Double-A debut start on Friday.

 

Mike Blazek was close to being the pinch hitter for Cleto, until he was called back for Jermaine Curtis, according to Springfield News-Leader's Kary Booher.
