Cardinals Major League Notebook: 08/14/11

Jaime Garcia had a rare bad outing at home as the Rockies defeated the Cardinals Saturday night.

The St. Louis Cardinals failed in their attempt to string together three consecutive wins and position themselves for a series sweep over the visiting Colorado Rockies Saturday night, losing 6-1 at Busch Stadium.

Starter Jaime Garcia walked two batters and gave up a three-run home run to Carlos Gonzalez in the third inning for the primary damage. The lefty was charged with five earned runs in five innings as his home ERA grew to 1.56. Cardinals hitters managed just six hits in total against Jason Hammel and four Rockies relievers.
