Cardinals Minor League Notebook: 08/22/11

Tyler Greene drives in four runs as Memphis doubles up the competition. Zack Cox, Travis Tartamella each knock in two runs but Springfield loses seventh straight. Tyler Lyons allows one run over seven innings as Palm Beach wins second consecutive. Angel DeJesus tosses 2 2/3 scoreless in Quad Cities' victory. And plenty of player notes included.

Memphis beat Albuquerque 10-5

 

Individual Highlights:

Shane Robinson 0-for-4 with two runs, one walk, and one strikeout.

Tyler Greene 3-for-5 with one double, one triple, four RBIs (three w/two-outs), one run, was picked off, one missed catch error, and assisted in one double play.

Nick Stavinoha 1-for-4 with one home run, one two-out RBI, one run, and one walk.

Mark Hamilton 3-for-5 with three doubles, one two-out RBI, two runs, and assisted in two double plays.

Matt Carpenter 2-for-4 with two doubles, one RBI, one run, one walk, and assisted in one double play.

Andrew Brown 1-for-5 with one RBI, three strikeouts, and was picked off.

Bryan Anderson 2-for-4 with one run, one hit by pitch, one strikeout, and one fielding error.

Pete Kozma 1-for-3 with one RBI, one run, one walk, one sac fly, one missed catch error, and assisted in one double play.

Freddie Bynum 1-for-1 with one two-out RBI and one run.

Rough Outing:

Bryan Augenstein entered in the sixth and pitched two innings.  He allowed two hits, one earned run, one home run, and struck two out for the hold (6). (p-s:29-23)(g/f:2-2)

 

Former Cardinal:

Randy Keisler started and pitched five innings.  He allowed five hits, three earned runs, one home run, two walks, hit one batter, and struck two out.  1-for-2 with one double and one run at the plate. (p-s:78-43)(g/f:8-3)

 

Notes:

Former Memphis Redbird Tyler Henley was released by the Grand Prairie Air Hogs of the independent American Association.  He played in 64 games going 57-for-227 (.251) with 15 doubles, five triples, two home runs, 42 RBIs, 28 runs, 31 walks, five stolen bases, and 40 strikeouts.
