Matt Adams drives in four runs, Ryan Jackson adds two as Springfield wins third straight to stay six games out. Xavier Scruggs hits two-run homer as Palm Beach goes down in third consecutive and fall 4 1/2 out of first. Joey Bergman, Jonathan Rodriguez each knock in two as Quad Cities is doubled up and drop into tie for first.

Individual Highlights:

Tyler Greene 1-for-2 with one run, three walks, one strikeout, and assisted in one double play.

Nick Stavinoha 1-for-3 with one double, one run, two walks, and one strikeout.

Mark Hamilton 1-for-4 with one walk, two strikeouts, and assisted in one double play.

Matt Carpenter 1-for-3 with one RBI, two walks, and one strikeout.

Andrew Brown 1-for-4 with two RBIs and two strikeouts.

Notes:

Victor Marte signed a two-year minor league deal with the Royals, so the Cardinals will have him for a second year in 2012 according to the Post-Dispatch.

 

Cardinals' unsigned 2007 draft pick Kyle Russell was promoted from Double-A Chattanooga (Dodgers) to Triple-A Albuquerque.

 

Former Cardinals minor league signing Alberto Castillo was assigned to Triple-A Reno (Diamondbacks).

 

Felipe Lopez does not have to accept an assignment to Triple-A Nashville right away, Brewers GM Doug Melvin is letting Lopez look for another job according to Tom Haudricourt.

 

Former St. Louis Cardinal Miguel Batista was called up by the Mets from Triple-A Buffalo.
