Andrew Brown drives in four, Matt Carpenter adds three as Memphis wins. Matt Adams knocks in four runs, Eric Duncan hits for the cycle as Springfield claims fourth straight victory and steps out of the basement. Ted Obregon, Luis De La Cruz each plate three runs in Palm Beach's victory.

Cardinals GM John Mozeliak is optimistic Eduardo Sanchez will pitch again this season and said Springfield's Matt Adams will take part in this year's Arizona Fall League according to the Post Dispatch.

 

John Vuch visited with Dan McLaughlin on KMOX and discussed the playoff teams, fundamentals and promotions, off-season workouts, Shelby Miller, Matt Adams and Ryan Jackson.

 

 

Memphis beat Nashville 7-5

 

Individual Highlights:

Tyler Greene 1-for-5 with one double, one stolen base, one strikeout, and assisted in four double plays.

Nick Stavinoha 0-for-3 with two runs, two walks, and one strikeout.

Mark Hamilton 2-for-5 with two runs and assisted in four double plays.

Matt Carpenter 3-for-3 with one double, one home run, three RBIs, two runs, and two walks.

Andrew Brown 3-for-4 with one home run, four two-out RBIs, and one run.

Rough Outing:

Tony Cruz 0-for-5 with one strikeout and grounded into one double play.

Pete Kozma 0-for-3 with one walk, one fielding error, and assisted in two double plays.

Brandon Dickson started and pitched three innings.  He allowed seven hits, five earned runs, one home run, and struck two out.  0-for-1 at the plate.  (p-s:46-29)(g/f:7-0)

 

Notes:

Dickson is expected to join the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday and make the start vs. the Brewers, according to Fox Sports Midwest's B.J. Rains.
