Romulo Ruiz kicks off Parallel League play with a home run and two RBIs and Anderson Gerdel struck out two over three innings in his start. Rich Rundles arrives in Venezuela and picks up the win on opening day. Keith Butler pitches a hitless/scoreless inning in Arizona as Peoria reaches .500.
