Cardinals AFL Interview Series: Ace Adams

St. Louis Cardinals minor league pitching coach Ace Adams spoke from the Arizona Fall League about the organization's pitchers and hitters in this exclusive interview.

The successful pitching coach of the 2011 Batavia Muckdogs of the short-season Class A New York-Penn League, Arthur "Ace" Adams, has been coaching in organized baseball for over 30 years. He has seen and done a lot, but this marked his first trip to MLB's premier prospect showcase, the Arizona Fall League.

When I asked Adams about his biggest adjustment in Arizona, he said the following. "The biggest thing I have to do is to get 20 pitchers into the next five games," referring to the large AFL rosters and the importance of protecting the valuable young arms supplied by his employer, the St. Louis Cardinals, and those from five other MLB organizations, as well.

In this exclusive audio interview, Adams, since announced as the 2012 pitching coach for Quad Cities, discusses the AFL in general and quickly drills down into each of four Cardinals pitchers that were under his direction.

In bonus coverage, Adams also highlights the three Cardinals position players that were competing for the Javelinas.
