2012 Draft Scouting Report: Anthony Seise

Scouting reports are the foundation of the talent evaluation system, and the reports that are used on draft day are developed from multiple viewings over the course of an amateur career. As part of our 2012 draft coverage here at Scout.com, we're providing team quality first-hand scouting reports on the names you need to know on draft day. Here's a look at prep pitcher, Anthony Seise.

Name: Anthony Seise
Position: Pitcher
School: West Orange H.S. (Fla.)
Height: 6-foot-3
Weight: 185
Bats/Throws: R/L

Events Scouted: Perfect Game National

Physical Description

Seise is a good athlete. There's some room for him to grow, but expect to remain pretty wiry and athletic for the long haul.

There's a lot to like about Seise's delivery. He works from a high three-quarter slot and shows an easy, repeatable arm action.

There is more velocity on the way for Seise as he gets stronger. He currently sits at 89-91 mph, touching 92 at times. It shows heavy action at times, and he tends to break a lot of bats.

The breaking ball is a work in progress. He throws an 11-5 curveball at 72-75 mph and the bite is limited and inconsistent right now.

Seise has yet to feature a changeup. You'll see it in warmups on occasion but it's something he'll need to develop as a professional.

You're taking Seise for his live left-handed arm and athletic frame. His secondaries need a lot of development, as does his overall command.
