The Cardinals finished the season a combined 64-72, third in the Florida State League South Division.
August 30th: Jupiter Hammerheads 4 at Palm Beach Cardinals 0
The Cardinals playoffs hopes were finally officially dashed, as the Hammerheads took the opener of the four-game set 4-0. Miami Marlins 2011 first-rounder Jose Fernandez stifled the Cardinals for five shutout innings. The right-hander had some control issues, walking four batters early in the game but he settled down to strike out three.
The Cardinals offense could not get it together, as they were limited to a combined six hits on the night. James Ramsey paced the offense with two hits and two walks. Seth Blair took the loss, giving up one run in three innings of work. He was pulled after the third for exceeding 70 pitches.
August 31st: Palm Beach Cardinals 4, Jupiter Hammerheads 3
After falling behind 3-0 in the top of the first, the Cardinals clawed their way back to a 4-3 victory against their local rival. Kyle Hald (3-4) made the start, tossing 4 2/3 innings, scattering nine hits, while striking out three. Things did not look good for Hald early on, as he gave up three runs to the first four batters he faced. However, the left-hander settled down to throw four quality innings.
Offensively, Luis De La Cruz led the Cardinals attack, accumulating a season-high four hits. He set up the go-ahead run in the ninth inning with a lead off single. After a single and a walk loaded the bases, Starlin Rodriguez ended it with a walk-off single. Rodriguez finished with two hits and one RBI.
September 1st: Jupiter Hammerheads 5 at Palm Beach Cardinals 1
The Cardinals tied a franchise record as they committed a season-high six errors against the Hammerheads. Todd McInnis (4-6) was the recipient of some more bad luck, as he tossed six scoreless innings before being removed with a 1-0 lead. Despite his great start, the Cardinals bullpen and defense let him down the last two innings, as the Hammerheads scored all five of their runs in the eighth and ninth to clinch the season series. Alan Ahmady did his best, extending his eight-game hitting streak with two hits and an RBI.
September 2nd: Jupiter Hammerheads 1, Palm Beach Cardinals 0
In the regular season finale, the Cardinals were held scoreless by five different Hammerheads pitchers. Starter Anthony Ferrara Jr. (5-8) looked sharp, hurling four scoreless before being removed from the game. The Cardinals had multiple chances to score, but squandered all their opportunities, going 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position. Cody Stanley ended the season well, connecting for two doubles in four tries, while James Ramsey reached base twice. Danny Miranda suffered the loss in the ninth inning, as he gave up the game-winning hit.
