Cardinals instructs interviews: Derrick May

The Cardinals minor league hitting coordinator discusses his charges across the entire system, including the ones currently at instructional league camp in Jupiter, Fla.

While at St. Louis Cardinals instructional league camp, I interviewed a number of coaches and players – about a dozen. The second in this interview series is Cardinals minor league hitting coordinator Derrick May.

"D-May" was generous enough with his time to discuss some of the most improved hitters this season at every level of play in the Cardinals minor league system in 2012. That includes one of the biggest surprises – shortstop Pete Kozma. We finished with a short discussion about instructs, currently underway in Jupiter, Fla.

Part 1: short-season hitters (9:06)

Part 2: full-season hitters (11:43)

Part 3: instructional league hitters (1:40)
