Eight St. Louis Cardinal farmhands help comprise the Surprise Saguaros. Other organizations represented on the Surprise team are the Boston Red Sox, Kansas City Royals, New York Mets, and the Texas Rangers.
Currently the Saguaros have a record of 9-7 and are a game and a half behind the Peoria Javelinas in the West Division. The team has won two in a row and has posted an impressive 7-2 record at home.
With a .268 average, the team is third in the six team league in average and on base percentage (.347). Surprise has scored 92 runs which is the second best mark across the circuit while team's 12 home runs ranks fourth.
The Saguaros lead the AFL with a 3.58 ERA while ranking second in strikeouts with 144. The team has been stingy with the walk, allowing only 60, the second fewest in the league.
Kolten Wong ranks eighth in the league with a .354 batting average which is also the top mark on his team. Wong's 17 hits ties him for the third best in the AFL and paces the Saguaros. With a .442 on base percentage, Mike O'Neill ranks seventh on the circuit and has the best mark on the Saguaros.
Seth Blair is one of three pitchers who have an ERA of 0.00 while his 15 whiffs is tied for second in the AFL. Boone Whiting won his second game on Saturday and that ties him for the third most wins in the league while his 13 innings is the fourth highest mark.
