The St. Louis Cardinals hitting coach in the Arizona Fall League reports on progress of eight organizational prospects competing in the desert.
St. Louis Cardinals Midwest League hitting coach Joe Kruzel is heading into his second month on his fall assignment as hitting coach for the Surprise Saguaros of the Arizona Fall League.
Along with four Cardinals hitting prospects in the 2012 AFL, Kruzel is tutoring young hitters from the Texas Rangers, New York Mets, Kansas City Royals and Boston Red Sox.
However, in the interview that follows, "Kru" focused on his St. Louis hitters, Colin Walsh, Kolten Wong, Mike O'Neill and Cody Stanley.
I also prevailed upon him to provide his view on progress made by the four Cardinals pitchers competing in the desert – Seth Blair, Boone Whiting, Kevin Siegrist and recently injured Sam Freeman.
Coming soon: This interview was scheduled first to set the groundwork for upcoming interviews with the seven Cardinals prospects still competing in the 2012 Arizona Fall League.
