Rangers Winterball Roundup – 11/3

Tigres del Licey slugger Mike Olt reached base twice in three plate appearances on Saturday, but he was forced to leave the game after being hit on the head with a pitch. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's winterball action in the Texas Rangers' system.

Arizona Fall League: Arizona Fall League West 4 – (@) Arizona Fall League East 9

First baseman Chris McGuiness, the only Rangers prospect in this year's Arizona Fall League Rising Stars Game, entered as a defensive replacement in the bottom of the fifth inning. He went hitless in two at-bats, flying out twice.

Dominican Winter League

Licey centerfielder Leonys Martin batted leadoff and went 3-for-4 with a walk, raising his winterball batting average to .261. First baseman Mike Olt (1/2, HBP) and left fielder Engel Beltre (1/3, BB) also reached base multiple times.

Olt was lifted in the fifth inning after being hit on the helmet with a pitch. He's expected to miss a few days but is reportedly okay.

Playing third base once again for Cibao, leadoff man Leury Garcia was hitless in four at-bats. He also committed his fifth error of the winterball campaign.

Leones del Escogido right-handed reliever Carlos Pimentel retired all four batters he faced, striking out three of them.

Venezuelan Winter League

La Guaira reliever Joe Ortiz surrendered a run in two-thirds of an inning, raising his earned-run average to 3.86. He gave up a single and plunked a batter.

Liga Paralela (Venezuela Minor League)

No Rangers appeared in Liga Paralela on Saturday.

Mexican Pacific League

Hot-hitting Guasave catcher Jose Felix continued to show some pop by going 2-for-4 with a double––his third––and three runs batted in.

Mazatlan right fielder Joey Butler saw his batting average fall to .209 after he went without a hit in four trips.

Puerto Rican Winter League
