The moves are as follows.
Perez, 21, joined the Chiefs on June 14 and appeared in just one Midwest League game. In fact, it was just one at-bat, a pinch-hit, three-run home run at Cedar Rapids on June 14. Perez batted .309 for the 2012 Gulf Coast League Cardinals.
Wiley, 21, was taken by the Cardinals in the 13th round in 2012 from Jefferson (Mo.) College. After playing in the Gulf Coast League last season, the left-handed hitter was promoted from extended spring training to Peoria on June 14. In eight MWL plate appearances, Wiley had a triple and two walks for an unusual line of .167/.375/.500.
Jenkins, 20, went on the disabled list on June 11 after suffering shoulder soreness on June 8. He returned to the Cardinals complex in Jupiter, Fla. to rehab and will now stay there with the Palm Beach club.
In his second Midwest League season, Jenkins went 4-4 with a 4.74 ERA. The right-hander fanned 34 but walked 24 in 49 1/3 innings. The Texan is The Cardinal Nation's eighth-ranked St. Louis prospect for 2013 and a 2013 Midwest League All-Star.
Like Jenkins, Swinson was sent to Jupiter to rehab, but unlike Jenkins, he returns to Peoria. Swinson, 23, went on the disabled on June 1 with a hip flexor injury. It was his second DL stint in 2013. In 37 Midwest League games, the left-handed hitter has forged a line of .214/.294/.294. Swinson has 36 strikeouts against 27 hits to date this season.
Watson, 23, was assigned to A-Advanced Palm Beach from extended spring training on June 2. In two Florida State League games, including one start, the right-hander allowed two earned runs in nine innings. Watson struck out five and walked one.
