Moises Rodriguez on the 2013 DSL Cardinals

St. Louis Cardinals director of international operations Moises Rodriguez discusses the 2013 Dominican Summer League Cardinals along with progress made in the US by key academy graduates.

Beyond box scores, stat sheets, our daily minor league notebooks and stray news items, detailed information about happenings with St. Louis Cardinals prospects in the Dominican Summer League is hard to come by.

Fortunately, the Cardinals organization has staffers who will share their first-hand information with us. In this case, the source is the man in charge of the international program, director of international operations Moises Rodriguez.

Before a rash of injuries to rotation members and catchers, the 2013 DSL Cardinals were heading toward an improved season. Even after a painful 12-game losing streak in August, the club finished at 35-36. A number of prospects have developed to the point they are moving ahead to compete for jobs in the US.

In the following exclusive interview, Rodriguez talks about the 2013 DSL club overall, standout pitchers and hitters as well as some key graduates of the Cardinals academy doing good work elsewhere in the system – all the way up to St. Louis.
