After becoming a St. Louis Cardinal due to his selection as their 10th-round selection in the 2013 draft, Collymore received $275,000 to skip the University of Missouri and sign. He was the fourth of four middle infielders taken by the Cardinals in the first 10 rounds.
With several weeks remaining in the GCL season, Collymore was excused to rejoin his Canadian national team, traveling to Australia and China to play this fall. In the International Baseball Federation 18U World Cup in Taichung, Taiwan, the 5-foot-11, 190-pounder was given the top base stealer award. Collymore then returned to Cardinals camp in Jupiter, Fla. to participate in fall instructional league.
During the recently-completed instructs, Collymore spoke about playing his country along with his first summer and fall as a professional baseball player.
