Cardinals prospect interview: Greg Garcia

In his second big league camp, the St. Louis Cardinals infielder continues to impress.

For the second consecutive year, infielder Greg Garcia has remained with the major league club late into the St. Louis Cardinals spring training schedule. There are several major differences between the two years, however.

Last year, the 24-year-old was a non-roster invitee in his first camp, making solid first impressions but with no realistic chance of making the big-league. This time around, Garcia holds a precious 40-man roster spot, but the signing of Jhonny Peralta and Mark Ellis means the left-handed hitter will most likely need to return to Memphis.

In the following interview, The Cardinal Nation's 20th-ranked prospect recaps his last year. Following spring training, injuries and a slow start were eventually overcome by a strong finish to 2013. Garcia is also performing well when called upon here in 2014 camp.
