It's about speed when talking Xavier Gantt.
He has run the 100m in 10.8 seconds and he was part of Buford's (Ga.) state championship 4x100m team this year. Gantt plays with that type of speed on the football field too and that has led to five early offers.
Gantt saw his former teammate Korie Rogers sign with Clemson in February, so he would like an offer from the Tigers too. Right now though, CU and everyone else trails two schools that have already offered.
"Georgia Tech and Ohio State are my top two."
"I have been around Georgia Tech a lot -- I was at a Junior Day, I went to their spring game, and I know a lot about them. Their football is great, but their education is great too. I want to be an engineer in life, so I like what they offer.
"Ohio State has always been a great football school. I will know more when I go up there and visit. I hope to visit there this summer."
Most schools are recruiting the 5-foot-10, 163 pound speedster as an athlete. He could project as a running back, slot receiver, or cornerback.
