Cardinals Formalize Final Roster Cuts

As expected, the St. Louis Cardinals made final moves to reach the Opening Day roster limit of 25.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced the following roster moves Friday evening in preparations for their season opener on Sunday night (April 5) at Chicago.

The Cardinals optioned pitcher Marco Gonzales and infielder Ty Kelly to Memphis (AAA) and re-assigned non-roster pitchers Mitch Harris and Marcus Hatley, infielder Scott Moore and outfielder Stephen Piscotty to Memphis (AAA).

Outfielder Tommy Pham (strained left quadriceps) has been placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 27.
