Manager Shildt on the 2015 Memphis Redbirds

The skipper of the St. Louis Cardinals Triple-A affiliate discusses his 2015 Memphis Redbirds club.

Officially, Mike Shildt is barely a dozen games into his new job as manager of the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds. However, the North Carolina native has plenty of experience, including three minor league titles, most recently with the 2012 Springfield Cardinals.

The first part of the following interview, conducted Wednesday, was lost. However, the final seven minutes remain. We pick up the discussion with the contributions of hitting coach Mark Budaska and pitching coach Bryan Eversgerd. Other subjects include adjusting to the extensive travel in the Pacific Coast League, how the lineups evolve and the manager closes by noting several unheralded contributors on his team.
