Mgr Oliver Marmol on 2015 Palm Beach Cards

The skipper of the St. Louis Cardinals A-Advanced affiliate discusses his 2015 Palm Beach club.

Marmol

Though Oliver Marmol is now a managerial veteran in the St. Louis Cardinals system, 2015 marks his first season leading a full-season club. The skipper of the 2014 New York-Penn League champions from State College is now leading the Palm Beach Cardinals of the Florida State League.

As has been the case across the entire Cardinals system in 2015, Palm Beach features strong pitching to go with an inconsistent offense. The Cardinals are third in the FSL with a 2.85 team ERA, but are eighth in the 12-team league in runs scored. Overall, Palm Beach is a respectable 18-17, tied for second place, but six games back of the divisional leader.

In the following interview, the skipper discusses his team to date, including a number of the expected and a few of the unexpected standouts, as well, such as Bruce Caldwell, shown above.
