Martini Moves from Memphis
As reported Tuesday, the Memphis Redbirds had to make a roster move to accommodate the return of first baseman Dan Johnson from St. Louis. That news was disclosed on Wednesday when outfielder Nick Martini was returned to Double-A Springfield.
In 21 games (13 starts) since joining the Redbirds on July 4, the 25-year-old performed well. Martini compiled a .392 batting average (22-for-56), seven extra-base hits, and collected 14 RBI.
