The Saguaros (9-6) fell for the third straight game, this one a 4-1 decision to the Rafters.
Surprise struck first on Patrick Wisdom’s second home run of the season and second in two days, one of only three hits by the Saguaros. It came off Toronto right-hander Jeremy Gabryszwski (W, 1-0), who held his opponents to two hits and a base-on-balls over five. The seven hole batter led off the third, garnering his only hit in three at bats. Wisdom, who manned first, struck out once.
Salt River responded in the home half of the fourth with the first of three tallies off Ian Clarkin (L, 1-1) (NYY). Clarkin gave up the go-ahead scores the next frame, allowing four hits and three walks in 4 1/3.
Catcher Michael Ohlman went 0-for-3, including a strikeout, lowering his fall average to .188. Defensively, he had his second passed ball of the AFL campaign and tagged out a runner at the plate to complete a double play.
