Cardinals Minor League Notebook: 11/2/15

Fall Star Alex Reyes ran into trouble in his fifth and final inning in a losing outing on Monday.

Results from Arizona Fall League game played Monday, November 2nd.

Scottsdale 5 at Surprise 0

The Surprise Saguaros’ losing skid reached five on Monday with a 5-0 loss to the Scottsdale Scorpions.

Alex Reyes yielded all five tallies scored by Scottsdale, all of them coming in the fourth. Reyes (L, 0-1) issued a free pass in the first and third plus a second-inning single before the opposition kicked off the fourth with four consecutive singles. With the sacks jammed and a run already across, the righty induced a force at home but negated that by wild pitching another run in. His third walk reloaded the bases and finished his day. Reyes threw a whopping 78 pitches, 42 for strikes.

Surprise managed just six hits, half of them by first baseman Ronald Guzman (TX), who was a perfect 3-for-3 out of the eight hole. Charlie Tilson led off, singling once in four at bats with a strikeout. Third baseman Patrick Wisdom went hitless in four at bats, batting sixth.

Awards: In other AFL news, Reyes and Wisdom were named to the AFL Fall Stars Game to be held this Saturday evening at Salt River. The game will be televised on MLB Network and via MLB.com at 7 pm CT.

Tuesday’s game: Surprise (9-8) at Scottsdale (10-6), 12:35 pm MST, Sam Wolff (1-1, 6.55)
