The Surprise Saguaros (11-8) scored six times in the ninth to stun the Desert Dogs 9-8 in walk-off fashion.
Patrick Wisdom’s two singles were key that frame, the first igniting the rally and the second capping an eight-single frame and driving in the winning run. The third baseman was on base four times, going 2-for-3 with two walks, two runs scored and the game-winning RBI, batting sixth.
Charlie Tilson’s only hit in five at bats was the fifth single of the ninth, knocking in Surprise’s third tally that frame. Tilson came around to score the tying run. The left fielder struck out once.
Right-hander Kevin McCarthy (KC) tossed 1 1/3 scoreless frames and leaving an inherited runner on, picking up his first win in two decisions while Edubray Ramos (PHI) took the loss. No St. Louis hurlers saw action.
