The Palm Beach Cardinals are slowly getting healthier. On Thursday, the Cardinals’ A-Advanced club activated second baseman Darren Seferina off the seven-day disabled list. The 2015 Midwest League post-season All-Star with Peoria had been on the Florida State League club’s DL since the season opened.

Seferina is The Cardinal Nation’s 26th-ranked prospect for 2016 after leading the entire Cardinals system in triples (12) and placing second in doubles (26) and fourth in stolen bases (23) last summer.

Palm Beach manager Oliver Marmol immediately placed the 22-year-old in his starting lineup at the leadoff position Thursday night. In his initial at-bat of the game and season in the first, Seferina singled to right. The left-handed hitter eventually came home to score the only run of the night, as Palm Beach defeated visiting Daytona, 1-0.

In the corresponding transaction, second baseman Dylan Tice was returned to extended spring training. In his three days with Palm Beach, the 23-year-old collected two singles in seven at-bats and drove in a run, but also fanned three times.
