Results from the game played Friday, October 21st.
Dodgers righty Chris Anderson put Glendale (3-7) in a hole from which they could not escape, resulting in an 8-2 loss to Peoria (7-1).
Anderson (L, 0-2) tossed a clean first but yielded three runs in each of the next two frames. He allowed three hits, including a three-run home run, and two walks over three.
The only St. Louis hurler to see action was Ryan Sherriff, who has yet to get on track in the desert. Sherriff pitched the seventh, permitting a tally on three hits but did fan two. The lefty has been scored upon in each of his three Arizona Fall League appearances. Sherriff threw 24 pitches, 16 for strikes.
Paul DeJong and Harrison Bader each garnered one of their squad’s eight hits. DeJong went 1-for-3 with an RBI on a sac fly that got the Desert Dogs on the board in the third. He struck out once, batting second. Defensively, De Jong committed his first error while playing short and took part in one double play.
Bader singled once in four at bats out of the clean-up slot. The left fielder touched home in the fourth for Glendale’s final tally.
