There is no better source from whom to get candid eye-witness reports on St. Louis Cardinals prospects than the opposing bench.
Jose Carreno, 39, is the manager of the Gulf Coast League Mets, the intra-division rival of the GCL Cardinals, who faced off 13 times during the 2016 season on the Florida backfields. With his watchful and observant eye, Carreno has spent the last four summers as the Mets’ US entry-level U.S. affiliated manager and as such, is an ideal interview source to get an outside view on the standouts for the Cardinals at that level.
In the exclusive interview, Carreno touches on four Cardinals standouts who caught his attention during the 2016 campaign and explains why. They include Delvin Perez, Alvaro Seijas, Dennis Ortega and Dylan Carlson.
