High-A – Dunedin Blue Jays 9, Palm Beach Cardinals 3
(The Birdhouse News) Even Palm Beach ace Chris Lambert could not stop the bleeding for the Cardinals as they lost again last night, 9-3. Lambert (5-1, 2.95 ERA) had his first poor outing of the season, going only three innings while allowing six runs, five earned, on seven hits and two walks. At least one hopes Chris' performance was simply due to an off night and not a consequence of an injury. The Palm Beach batters managed to plate only three runs, two earned, against Dunedin starter Michael MacDonald who came into the contest with a 4.68 ERA in over thirty innings pitched. DH Cody Haerther went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and a rbi. Cardinals reliever Roberto Batista lowered his ERA to 2.95 as he pitched three effective innings and allowed only one hit and one walk.
