Cardinals Caravan Schedule

ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Cardinals today announced the schedule for the 2006 Cardinals Caravan. The Cardinals will embark on four separate caravans this year, scheduled during the week of January 12-17. The caravan offers fans a chance to meet and interact with current and former Cardinals players, team announcers, staff and Fredbird, the team's mascot.

The first caravan leaves on Thursday, January 12, for a swing through Illinois and a stop in Hannibal, Mo. The trip begins with a visit to Champaign at noon Thursday and Decatur that night before continuing on to Hannibal on Friday, January 13, and Springfield, Ill Friday night. The caravan features current Cardinals' pitchers Brad Thompson and Anthony Reyes along with outfielder John Gall. Former Redbirds Danny Cox and John Costello will also be along, while the newest member of the team's radio voice, John Rooney, will serve as the emcee.

The second caravan is a two-day event Saturday, January 14, through Sunday, January 15. The group makes their first appearance in Marion, Ill., before stopping at Memphis, Tenn., on Saturday night. On Sunday they stop at Ripley, Tenn., and Cape Girardeau, Mo., Sunday night. Cardinals lefty Randy Flores and catcher Yadier Molina along with new infielder Aaron Miles will be joined by emcee Al Hrabosky on this trip.

The third caravan features outfielders John Rodriguez and Larry Bigbie along with former Cardinals Rick Horton and Tom Lawless, with Horton serving as the emcee on the trip. The travelers will stop in Bloomington, Ill., on Saturday January 14 before a night stop in Davenport, Iowa, home of the club's Single-A affiliate. Sunday will see the caravan stopping in Peoria and Litchfield, Ill., before returning home.

The final caravan begins in Joplin, Mo., on Monday, January 16, and will proceed to Springfield, Mo., for a Monday night stop and a private noon function on Tuesday, January 17. Springfield is host to the team's Double-A Cardinals affiliate. The caravan concludes on Tuesday night in Columbia, Mo.
