Travis Hanson: Manno said that it is unlikely that Hanson will be moved back to second base. He did say, however, that he will receive playing time in left field, in addition to being the starting third baseman for Triple-A Memphis in 2006.
Blake Hawksworth: Manno expects Hawksworth to be 100% healthy at the start of spring training and said he will likely begin the season at Palm Beach.
Rhett Parrott: Parrott missed all of the 2005 season due to a torn labrum that required surgery. Manno said that Rhett will not be ready to begin the season, but hopes that he will be ready "at some point" in 2006.
Chris Narveson: Like Parrott, Narveson also underwent labrum surgery and will be "a little behind" when the season starts. He was shut down last season on August 22.
Mark McCormick: Mark's command in spring training will determine whether he starts the season at Palm Beach or Quad Cities.
Nick Stavinoha: Manno said that Nick will be given every opportunity to make the roster for Double-A Springfield out of spring training. He was the only Cardinals' draft pick in 2005 to go straight to low-Class A Quad Cities.
Calvin Hayes: Has made some progress, but was again bothered by leg problems in 2005.
Here are some projections that Manno made about where players will begin the 2006 season.
Cody Haerther – Springfield
Chris Lambert – Springfield
Stuart Pomeranz – Springfield
Mark Worrell – Springfield
Tyler Greene – Palm Beach with a promotion to Springfield during the season.
Eric Haberer – Palm Beach with a promotion to Springfield during the season.
Nick Webber – Palm Beach
Mark McCormick – Palm Beach or Quad Cities (Depends on command in spring training.)
Colby Rasmus – Quad Cities
Tyler Herron & Josh Wilson – One of the two will begin the season at Quad Cities. Probably Wilson at this point.
Bryan Anderson – Quad Cities or extended spring training and State College.
