Interview –2nd-Rounder Furnish to Sign Friday

Our series of exclusive audio interviews with the St. Louis Cardinals' draft class of 2006 continues with Texas Christian's left-handed pitcher Brad Furnish. Furnish was selected by the Cardinals in the second round of the First-Year Player Draft, the 54th pick overall. He will ink his contract with the Cards on Friday, receiving a $600,000 signing bonus.

21-year-old Brad Furnish knows what he wants to do, and that is to get on the mound for the State College Spikes in their inaugural season. The 6-1 left-handed pitcher agreed to terms with the Cardinals on Thursday and heads to Jupiter, Florida this weekend. After a week or so, he is expected to join the Spikes for their first New York-Penn League campaign.
