Post of the Week – June 25 through July 1

Recognizing the very best post of the week from our message board community of thousands of Cardinals fans the world over. The winner of this recognition receives a free four-week subscription to stlcardinals.scout.com and all the other fine sites in the Scout.com network.

As their favorite team's losses mount, some of the dialogue among members of the Cardinal Nation on our Scout.com Cardinals message board this past week became more intense and less informative. Just looking at the titles of some of these threads will give you an idea about the general mood.

Still there was plenty of good stuff, too. As always, this article calls out the best of the best - our "Post of the Week".

sport61201 started a thread called "I'm not sure I could handle this". sport surveyed minor league salaries at the various levels, marveling how most of the players can make ends meet.

DizzyDean17 makes an appearance here as he reports the winningest regular season teams win the World Series just 42% of the time in the thread called "I can't take this any longer!".

On the second page of a thread called "Scouting Report from Uncle", regular Bokanon2 looked at speed and how it is used in the minor league system and in major league ball.

rbdrdbrd added good thoughts to the thread called " a breakdown of this years team and why they're not good", when he paralled the 1963 and 1964 Cardinals teams with the current state of affairs.

On the first page of that same thread above, SkinnyPimp looked at a number of points being made by other readers and offered a more optimistic view of the 2006 team, with some data to back it up.

The top post this week is also from SkinnyPimp as part of a thread named "What' so wrong with this year's team?". Skinny looked at the seasons of recent top teams, noting that most all of them suffered through sustained periods of losses.

As a result, I am pleased to announce that SkinnyPimp is our weekly winner for June 25 through July 1.

Thank you for your many contributions to our community, SkinnyPimp, and keep making these informative posts. And as always, congratulations to all of last week's honorable mentions.

In recognition, SkinnyPimp wins a free four-week subscription to stlcardinals.scout.com and all the other great sites in the Scout.com network.

Next week, it can be you! So, keep posting!
