The heat is on and it doesn't get any hotter than the St. Louis Cardinals Minor League teams in the final days of a pennant race.

Three of the Cardinals minor league affiliates are gripped in tight pennant races as their season draw to a close.

Palm Beach (A) of the Florida State League lost last night vs. Jupiter and stand at 0.5 games ahead in the standings and percentage points (.563-.552) ahead of the St. Lucie Mets with just two games remaining.

The Swing of Quad Cities (A) of the Midwest League clinched the Western Division second-half Championship and are a 3.5 games ahead of Kane County in first place.

The State College Spikes (A) of the NY-Penn League are two games back of Auburn in the Pickney Division with doubleheaders scheduled for today and Monday.

In other minor league news, St. Louis activated Sunday's starter, RHP Anthony Reyes, just prior to the game.

The Cardinals added two players on Friday to their roster, recalling RHP Brad Thompsonand OF John Rodriguez from Triple-A Memphis.
