The St. Louis Cardinals have received approval from Major League Baseball to begin selling tickets for the 2006 National League Division Series and National League Championship Series at Busch Stadium. Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, September 19.
As part of the Cardinals' continuing effort to make postseason tickets available to as many people as possible, the team has developed an efficient and fair ticket ordering process. Fans must pre-register at stlcardinals.com by on Sunday, September 17 for a random drawing to have the opportunity to purchase tickets online. Tickets will not be available at Busch Stadium or over the phone.
The online registration will work as follows:
Monday, Sept. 11, through Sunday, Sept. 17,
· Cardinals fans may log on to stlcardinals.com and register for a chance to purchase postseason tickets.
Monday, September 18
· Winners will be notified by e-mail. The e-mail will provide winners with instructions on how to purchase tickets on Tuesday, September 19.
Tuesday, September 19,
· Winners will have the opportunity to purchase up to four (4) tickets for one (1) game out of the seven (7) possible NLDS and NLCS games at Busch Stadium. Seat locations will be sold on a first-come basis.
"There has been an unprecedented demand for tickets in 2006 and we expect that tickets to potential home playoff games will sell out quickly," said Mark Lamping, Cardinals president. "We believe the online registration program is the best way to give all fans an equal opportunity to experience the most exciting games of the year."
The exact number of seats available is unknown until the Cardinals receive commitments from season ticket holders.
With prices ranging from $18 to $60 each for the NLDS and $38 to $80 each for the NLCS, postseason tickets will be available in most seating areas throughout Busch Stadium.
