Cards to Return Hall of Fame Statues Sunday

Hall of Famers to participate in public rededication ceremony prior to the Cardinals' final 2006 regular season game on Sunday.

The St. Louis Cardinals will rededicate the Hall of Fame statues at their new location at the new Busch Stadium at 11:00 a.m. prior to the final regular season home game on Sunday, October 1. The ceremony will take place in front of the Team Store at the corner of 8th and Clark Streets.

Participants in the ceremony are expected to include Cardinals radio announcers Mike Shannon and John Rooney, Chairman of the Board/General Partner Bill DeWitt, Jr. and sculptor Harry Weber. Also scheduled to take part will be Hall of Famers Stan Musial, Lou Brock, Bob Gibson, Red Schoendienst and Ozzie Smith.

Family members of other statue honorees to attend include: Carole Buck; Rogers Hornsby III and IV; Enos Slaughter's daughters Gaye, Rhonda and Sharon; George Sisler's son Dave, daughter-in-law Janet and daughter Frances Druchelmann; Dizzy Dean's great nephew Kevin and his wife Ashley; and representing Cool Papa Bell, former Negro League player George Altman.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the ceremony.
