Meet the Crew - 2006 NLCS Umpires Named

MLB has assigned Tim Welke and crew to work the St. Louis Cardinals - New York Mets National League Championship Series.

Major League Baseball has assigned the two umpiring crews that will work the American League and National League Championship Series, scheduled to begin Tuesday, October 10th and Wednesday, October 11th.

Jerry Crawford will serve as the Crew Chief during the American League Championship Series and his crew will consist of Mike Reilly, Derryl Cousins, Chuck Meriwether, Gary Cederstrom, and Hunter Wendelstedt.

Tim Welke, who is in his 23rd year as a Major League Umpire, will work his sixth League Championship Series, covering the Cardinals and Mets. The Michigan native also has worked five Division Series and three Fall Classics. He will lead a crew that features Gary Darling, Jim Joyce, Jerry Layne, Jeff Kellogg and Fieldin Culbreth.

Umpires for the 102nd World Series will be announced later.
