Post of the Week – April 29 through May 5

Recognizing the very best post of the week from our message board community of thousands of St. Louis Cardinals fans the world over.

As we do each and every week here at stlcardinals.scout.com, we call out the best of the best - the "Post of the Week" from our Scout.com Cardinals message board, this time for the week ending Saturday, May 5.

Here is the link to the Message Boards, of which there are several – for fantasy players, insider information for subscribers, general topics, non-Cardinals sports and more.

A regular in these parts, "fpslackers", initiated a very interesting thread called One Month Prospect Stock Watch". Others joined right in on the discussion as to which minor leaguers were heading up and down based on April play.

A similar thread assessed the performances of the major leaguers last month. At least three posts in that conversation stood out. "iwtflja" began the "One Month Grades - Time to make changes WALT Or NO?" thread, making the bold step of providing the initial grades for others to comment on. Readers "thejager" and "cpebbles" each made contributions to a good discussion.

"haltz" added some great analysis to an existing thread about shortstop David Eckstein's offensive difficulties called "Eckstein....1 SO in 94 AB".

Finally, this week's winner is a new name to this article. On the third page of a long-running thread on the struggles of pitcher Jeff Weaver, "Geoff Weaver (boo hoo)", "Edelkin" offered up the top post – a four-point analysis of the potential factors in the former Cardinals' 2007 downfall with Seattle.

"Edelkin" collects a free four-week subscription to stlcardinals.scout.com and all the other great sites in the Scout.com network.

Next week, it can be you! So, keep posting!
