Post of the Week – May 6 through May 12

Recognizing the very best post of the week from our message board community of thousands of St. Louis Cardinals fans the world over.

As we do each and every week here at, we call out the best of the best - the "Post of the Week" from our Cardinals message board, this time for the week ending Saturday, May 12.

Here is the link to the Message Boards, of which there are several – for fantasy players, insider information for subscribers, general topics, non-Cardinals sports and more.

"Bad team or a good team struggling?" was a very popular thread this past week, with over 30 replies, including a wealth of top posts. "KylMss", "iwtfjla", "bicyclemike", "Batbird", "C2KSeven" and "1964Cards" among them. Posters offered up their views of the 2007 Cardinals.

A stickeyed thread kept at the top of the page allows ongoing talk and speculation about "Trades/Rumors/Trade Ideas". This past week in just his fourth post on the new board, "cac45" offered up thoughts on outfielders, Tony La Russa and other managers.

Given the Cardinals' troubles in 2007, it is only natural some readers are thinking ahead to next year, though they are not to be confused with Cubs fans. In his fifth post here, "LoganAlpha30" shared "Thoughts About 2008" that included views of needs and possible answers by position.

A regular winner here, "CariocaCardinal", was a serious challenger for this week's crown, initiating a very hot thread called "Why Rasmus, Perez, Marti, and Stavinoha won't see STL in 07". In it, Carioca discusses roster implications if/when various Cardinals prospects experience their Major League debuts.

Finally, this week's winner initiated a thread, "Strike out rate for power hitters". "photonblaster1234" shared historical statistical information looking at correlations between hitting home runs and whiffing.

"photonblaster1234" collects a free four-week subscription to and all the other great sites in the network.

Next week, it can be you! So, keep posting!
