Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A): Lost to Colorado Springs 7-2

Colorado Springs jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first and never looked back as they went on to score seven runs on 15 hits to defeat the Redbirds 7-2.

CF Skip Schumaker was the lone bright spot Tuesday night for Memphis, going 3-for-3, walking twice and scoring one of the two Redbirds' runs.

Memphis starter Mike Paris1 (L. 3-2) gave up all seven runs in just four innings as his record falls to 3-2.

Springfield Cardinals (Double-A): Rained Out

Tuesday night's Texas League game between the Springfield Cardinals and Arkansas Travelers was postponed due to rain.

Palm Beach Cardinals (High-A): Sweep Double-Header

Mark Hamilton drove in four runs as Palm Beach defeated host St. Lucie, 4-3, to sweep Tuesday's doubleheader.

Hamilton hit two-run doubles in the first and fourth innings and singled in the seventh to raise his average to .282.

Cardinals' starter Trey Hearne (W, 3-2) pitched 6.2 innings, allowing three runs on nine hits while walking two and striking out two for his third win of the season.

The Cardinals won the first game of the double-header with a 1-0 win with Kyle McClellan picking up his first win of the season.

Swing of Quad Cities (A): Rained Out

Tuesday's game at John O'Donnell Stadium between the Swing of the Quad Cities and the Burlington Bees has been canceled due to rain.

The Swing plays next on Thursday at 7 p.m. against the West Michigan Whitecaps.

McClellan picked up his first win on the season Tuesday, pitching 4.2 innings, scattering three hits, striking out four batters and did not walk anyone.
