Jamie Garcia (1-5, 3.55) who has not won a game since his first start on April 9th, suffered another tough loss Saturday giving up two runs, only one of them earned on six hits and a pair of walks over 6.2 innings with seven strikeouts.

Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A): Lost to Round Rock 3-1

The Redbirds could only put one run on the board as a result Memphis starter Mike Parisi (L, 4-3) who pitched well scattering nine hits over six innings leading to three runs for Round Rock, took the loss.

John Nelson playing in left field Saturday drove in the only run for Memphis with a two-out RBI double in the fourth inning.

Springfield Cardinals (Double-A): Lost 2-1 to Corpus Christi

Cardinals' starter Jaime Garcia (L, 1-5) lost his fourth consecutive start, giving up two runs, only one of them earned on six hits and a pair of walks over 6.2 innings with seven strikeouts.

LF Cody Haerther and 2B Jarrett Hoffpauir had three hits apiece for the Cardinals and Michael Ferris smacked an RBI single in the fourth for Springfield's only run on the day.

Jamie Garcia has not won since his first start on April 9th, pitching in tough luck in Garcia's previous start he allowed just one run on two hits over seven innings in Tulsa but suffered a 1-0 loss.

Palm Beach Cardinals (High-A): Winners 9-6 over Lakeland

The Palm Beach Cardinals offense scored nine runs on 10 hits Saturday to beat Lakeland by the 9-6.

Palm Beach reliever Fernando Salas (W, 1-0) picked up his first win on the season after allowing just one hit over two scoreless frames. Closer Luke Gregerson earned his 10th save with a perfect ninth, lowering his ERA to 0.99. Starter Gary Daley gave up five runs on six hits, struck out two and walked seven over four innings.

SS Jose Martinez hit is first home run of the season in the seventh inning with two on and two outs to add three RBI to his stats Saturday. The light hitting shortstop also had a double going 2-for-5 both of his hits for extra bases.

LF A.J. Van Slyke went 3-for-5 and had an RBI and scored.

Swing of Quad Cities (A): Rained Out

The Swing of the Quad Cities and Beloit Snappers were rained out on Saturday night at Pohlman Field, setting the stage for a Memorial Day doubleheader on Monday in the Quad Cities.

The series will continue on Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. in Davenport. The game will feature a spectacular post-game fireworks display in addition to Family Fun Day and YMCA Night at the ballpark.

The two squads will make up the postponed game as part of a Memorial Day doubleheader at John O'Donnell Stadium on Monday. The twin bill will consist of two seven-inning games with a 30-minute break in between.

The series was originally scheduled as a four-game, home-and-home set beginning with two contests at Pohlman Field in Beloit and shifting to John O'Donnell Stadium in Davenport on Sunday and Monday.

Season opens on Tuesday June 19th, against the Auburn Doubledays.

The Cardinals will open the season on the road in Greenville on Tuesday, June 19th.

The Cardinals will open their season on Wednesday, June 20th.
