Quad Cities starter P.J. Walters continues to pitch very well this season, picking up his fourth win Sunday, in four innings giving up only three hits and striking out four without walking anyone.

Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A): Winners 2-0 over Round Rock

Memphis starter Blake Hawksworth (W, 3-6, 2.98) limited Round Rock to five harmless hits over seven shutout innings and Andy Cavazos and Brian Falkenborg closed out a 2-0 victory for the Redbirds in front of 9,247 fans on the road at The Dell Diamond.

C Brian Esposito hit his second home run of the season in the eighth inning to expand the lead to 2-0. CF Rick Ankiel drove in the other run for the Redbirds in the fourth inning, his 34th RBI this season.

Springfield Cardinals (Double-A): Lost to Corpus Christi 8-4

Corpus Christi doubled up on Springfield Sunday afternoon beating the Cardinals by the score of 8-4. Starter Kevin Ool (L, 3-1, 3.27) took the loss for Springfield, recording just two outs and surrendering six runs, two earned on four hits and a walk. He struck out one and his ERA climbed to 3.27.

1B Joe Mather singled in a run in the first, while RF Sean Danielson went 3-for-5 and delivered a two-run double in the seventh and scored for the Cardinals

Palm Beach Cardinals (High-A): Winners 3-2 over Lakeland

Cardinals' starter Tyler Norrick allowed only two runs over six innings, but it was reliever Kyle McClellan (W, 2-1) who picked up the win with a perfect eighth. Closer Luke Gregerson earned his 11th save of the season with a scoreless ninth.

SS Jose Martinez had a good day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored.

Swing of Quad Cities (A): Winners 3-2 over Lakeland

P.J. Walters (W, 4-1) continues to pitch very well picking up the win Sunday, pitching four innings, giving up only three hits and striking out four.

Elvis Hernandez was the starting pitching, at least the first starter, he pitched 4.1 innings, giving up10 hits but managed to keep his team in the game, only allowing two runs to score.

1B Brandon Buckman went 1-for-3 to include his 10th home run, to go along with his .350 batting average on the season.

Season opens on Tuesday June 19th, against the Auburn Doubledays.

The Cardinals will open the season on the road in Greenville on Tuesday, June 19th.

The Cardinals will open their season on Wednesday, June 20th.
