Post of the Week – May 27 through June 2

Recognizing the very best post of the week from our message board community of thousands of St. Louis Cardinals fans the world over.

As we do each and every week here at, we call out the best of the best - the "Post of the Week" from our Cardinals message board, this time for the week ending Saturday, June 2.

Here is the link to the Message Boards, of which there are several – for fantasy players, insider information for subscribers, general topics, non-Cardinals sports and more.

Make sure you check out our "Guessing June draft selections" thread, where there are too many notable posts to count. If you want to talk 2007 draft, this is the place to go.

Page two of the thread called "Reyes down, Cate called up" continued with some excellent and informative dialogue, led by posts from "bicyclemike" and "tenniseleven". (I wonder if these two work out together!) Anyway, they analyze the current rotation and compare Reyes' arm action to oft-injured Mark Prior, respectively.

"Unbelievable that the Cards could be this bad" was another very popular thread this past week, with four pages of discussion bearing at least three very noteworthy posts from "easton714", "Bokonon2" and "iwtfjla" on May 30 and 31.

"Bokonon2" added some insightful comments to the discussion of the Cardinals manager's recent remarks here: "SI long feature on TLR". Bok considers what the manager's motivation might be in the context of the club needing to rebuild.

"CariocaCardinal" initiated another solid thread with a great premise, this one called "Movin´ on up" - Starting Pitchers", in which an analysis was done on which pitchers in the minor league system may be most deserving of a promotion and who would need to be replaced. "fpslackers" added another view on page two of the same thread.

"fpslackers" started a thread called "Two Month Prospect Stock Watch", which does an excellent job of measuring positive progress (or lack of it) from top minor leaguers at all levels of the system.

In a close contest with a number of top contenders, this week's winner is "fpslackers", for the breadth and depth of contributions. "fpslackers" collects a free four-week subscription to and all the other great sites in the network.

Next week, it can be you! So, keep posting!
